According to a press release issued by CEDIA, "more than 17,600 attendees and 444 exhibitors from 70 different countries participated in CEDIA EXPO 2011, September 7-10 in Indianapolis, Ind. Of those participants, 25% were first time attendees and 83 first time exhibitors." CEDIA Expo 2010 attracted more than 20,000 attendees and 453 exhibitors.
CEDIA went from a four-day expo the previous two years to a condensed three-day expo in 2011. CEDIA said making this change "will help you maximize your value at the show."
"The feedback received from attendees was positive and energetic," said Utz Baldwin, CEDIA CEO. "According to the 2011 CEDIA Benchmarking Survey, electronic systems contractor businesses are experiencing higher revenue and profitability and judging by the data and the traffic at the show the coming year looks to be one of growth and expansion."
Also according to CEDIA's press release, the expo "offered more than 100 CEDIA University education courses and 150 Manufacturer Product Training opportunities. The most popular CEDIA courses attended focused on home networking, content delivery, and emerging technologies/trends."
"CEDIA EXPO is the perfect tradeshow," said Phyllis Eliasberg, ABC TV Producer. "I've covered many tradeshows over the last 25 years in the electronics industry and CEDIA EXPO is the most organized, targeted event that provides me with that face-to-face time I need with quality attendees and exhibitors that represent the home technology space."
Highlights of the event included the CEDIA Future Technology Pavilion, which featured 29 companies displaying technologies and products that represent the future of the residential electronic systems industry.
Liberty supplied a beautiful Installer's Choice Ferrari Red Rack for CEDIA's Future Technology Pavilion. "That rack looked fantastic", said Eric Schendzielos, Liberty Product Specialist. "A rack isn't something most system designers intend to stand out. But when you can make it look this good, it really becomes a work of art all it's own. You'll want to show it off."
|
Liberty's booth traffic was quite good despite the almost 15% drop in attendance from last year's expo. "We were pleased with how busy the booth was this year", commented Becky McWilliams, Liberty's Director of Marketing. "The big hit was definitely the HD Termination System. We had a consistent mob of people around our termination station every day. As soon as one demonstration was completed, there was a crowd waiting for the next one. Being able to dress out racks or facilitate difficult installations with custom HD cables is now a realistic solution. Everybody wants to see it to believe it." |
|
Liberty's booth also featured a whole-house video distribution simulation constructed by Eric Schendzielos. The new HDBaseT products released by Intelix highlighted the demonstrated solutions. Other technologies displayed included HDMI scaling and switching, HDMI over Fiber, HDMI over Category and HDMI over COAX. A control system from Control4 and another beautiful bright red Installer's Choice rack rounded out the system. "There is definitely a benefit to showing all of these technologies working together in concert", said Eric. "Whatever the application, Liberty can provide the solutions and know-how from source to display." |
CEDIA EXPO will return to Indianapolis September 5-8, 2012.
