HD Field Termination Becomes Reality

The ability to easily field terminate cables has long been a shortcoming of HDMI for the AV integrator. Often times installers simply cannot determine the exact cable length requirements until time of installation. They are forced to pay more for longer length cables than actually required and then must find creative ways to conceal excess cable slack. Liberty has addressed this issue with the release of the HD Termination System - a terminable HD cable and connector system.
The cable utilizes a shielded internal ribbon design to facilitate easy field terminations while maintaining the signal integrity of the system. This solution also provides installers the option of replacing a damaged connector in the field rather than an entire cable assembly.
Because these cables are terminated in the field, they cannot be submitted to an ATC (Authorized Test Center) for the required HDMI compliance testing to be considered "compliant". The cable and connector have both been individually approved by HDMI. When combined however, the resulting custom cable cannot be referred to an "HDMI" cable. This is why we refer to it as an "HD" cable.
Typical maximum supported distance for 1080p video is 10 meters. HDMI Extender, DL-HDMEXT is also available for extending 1080p up to 16 meters.
The cable is offered in bulk packages of either 250 feet (DL-HDMCBL-250) or 500 feet (DL-HDMCBL-500), the cable can be cut to length and quickly terminated in the field using a simple hand tool (DL-HDMHT) and specially-designed HDMI high-retention force connectors (DL-HDMCPK). The connectors are sold 10 per package.
